THE AUTHORS 

Randie Clark & Avril Nagel

Randie Clark, MA LMHC holds a master’s degree in psychology with a focus on post-traumatic stress syndrome and traumatic loss and grief from Antioch University, Seattle. She maintains a private practice working with individual and couples, specializing in complicated issues of loss and grief. Randie has lead training workshops for first responders, professionals and community members in intervention, assessment, and treatment approaches for victims of trauma and individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. She has also developed and facilitated support groups for survivors of sudden and traumatic loss as well as providing services as a wedding officiant and pre-marital counselor.

In December of 1995 Randie’s son David was murdered in a street robbery. He was 26 years old. She and her husband reside in the Seattle area.

 

Avril Nagel has written professionally for more than ten years. Her publications are versatile and range in topic, including bereavement, pregnancy loss, international development, health and wellness and parenting.

 

Avril and her husband lost their son Alden when his heart stopped suddenly during birth. Her goal as an author is to empower, encourage and engage readers through thoughtful and informative writing.

 

Currently, you can find her on the beaches of Victoria, British Columbia, where she lives with her husband and two young children.
