Randie Clark & Avril Nagel
Randie Clark, MA, LMHC holds a master’s degree in psychology with a focus on post-traumatic stress syndrome & traumatic loss and grief from Antioch University, Seattle, Washington. Randie maintains a private practice working with individuals and couples, specializing in complicated issues of loss and grief. She also leads workshops for first responders, professionals and community members in intervention assessment & treatment approaches for victims of trauma, sudden and traumatic loss and individuals experiencing mental health crises. She is also a wedding officiant and pre-marital counselor.
Randie's twenty-six-year-old son David was stabbed to death in a street robbery. She and her husband reside in Seattle, Washington.
Avril Nagel is an author, editor and freelance writer. As a project manager and planner she has researched, written and edited numerous publications for the government and not-for-profit sectors. In addition to her work promoting When Your Child Dies, she is the Editor for the University of Victoria Family Centre. She also writes a blog about family life called Northwest Narrative. Her publications range in topic, including emergency management, bereavement, international development, health and wellness and parenting. She graduated from McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
Avril and her husband lost their son Alden when his heart stopped suddenly during birth. She currently lives in Victoria, British Columbia, with her husband and two young children.
